Strange Love: Notes from an Unconventional Romance Writer
I’m gonna be honest…
I don’t know why… or how… I come up with some of the strange and intricate plots that be in my head—but if you’re seeking straightforward romance (or straightforward anything), I’m probably not your girl.
As a writer, I’ve been trying to be honest with myself about the work that I’m here to create. A large part of me wants to cater to some algorithm or trend that exists on a Top 10 chart. To create more typically… to do what’s always worked. However, I don’t think my brain works that way.
I’ve learned as an AuDHD person that I really have to enjoy what I’m working on to do it well. I’m not trying to be a risk taker, but I also realize that as a neurodivergent person—to satisfy my dopamine tank and need to express—I’m going to do ambitious things.
Every book is layered… you may not catch it the first time, but you will the second, the third…
To the readers that have taken a chance and love my stories… THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
